Horror Movies

Horror movies elicit the emotions of fear, disgust and horror from viewers. They are scenes that startle the viewers, science, supernatural, thriller, movies that deal with the viewer's nightmares, and worst fears, revulsion and terror of the unknown.

Plots written within the horror scenes often involve the intrusion of an evil force, commonly of supernatural origin, horror films include ghosts, werewolves, ancient curses, torture, gore, satanism, vampires, demons, vicious animals, cannibals, haunted houses, zombies and serial killers. Conversely, stories of the supernatural are not necessarily always a horror movie.

Early horror movies are largely based on classic literature of the gothic, such as Dracula, Frankenstein, The Phantom of the Opera, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. More recent horror films continue to exploit the monsters.
