Sleeping Beauty
Walt Disney envisioned Sleeping Beauty as his masterpiece, the ultimate in animated filmmaking. The project was first comsidered in 1950, when preliminary work was begun on a small scale. The next few years saw the story take shape. In 1954 the project was laid aside for two years, while the Disney staff concentrated on the Disneyland park and the studio's two television series. Work on the Sleeping Beauty resumed in earnest in 1956, and consumed the next three years. By the end of that time the cost of the seventy-five-minute film had mounted to $6 million, making it the most expensive animated cartoon of all time.
The fantastic effort and phenomenal expense do show up on the screen; it is unquestionably Disney's most elaborate cartoon film, the visuals on screen enhanced by the wide-screen Technirama process and the aural stereophonic sound system.

Lady & The Tramp
The film opens on a panoramic view of a quaint New England town in the early part of the century during a snowfall. Darling (the human heroine) opens her Christmas package to find a female puppy inside, a gift from her husband Jim Dear. They named her Lady, and in a filmic transition we see her grow up.
She lives in an exclusive section of town with canine friends Jock (a Scottish terrier) abd Trusty (a basset hound devoid of the sense of smell) on the same block. When they chance to encounter a dog from the wrong side of the tracks (Tramp), they treat hime with disdain.
