Horror Movies

Author: Do you like Horror movies? Early horror movies are largely based on classic literature of gothic/horror genre, such as Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, Phantom of the Opera and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. More recent horror movies such as Psycho, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Exorcist.
It is not the horror film; it no (necessarily) the film of violence. Anyone who has ever edged toward the front of that upholstered seat, who has unconsciously reached out a hand to seek a consoling grip on the hand of a companion when the tension flitting across the screen became unbearable– that cinemagoer knows what a suspense and horror film is. It is not true to say that when you have seen one you have seen them all. But it is true that when you have seen one you want to see thousand more, and you do not need any difinition.
In fact, a thesis could be written (and doubtless has been) to define the horror and suspense movies; and the very academic possibility defines its irrelevance.
